FAQ

Q: “Do you deliver every image you shoot?”

A: No, we don’t. We go through all the images taken during the shoot and select the best ones for delivery. This involves removing duplicate photos, test shots, shots with missed focus, and any images that might not contribute to the overall quality of the final collection. For instance, when shooting with low apertures, we might take a few extra shots to ensure perfect focus. We then spend hours on our end to carefully curate the images that best represent your moments. We understand that you might not have the time or expertise to sift through every photo, so we take on that responsibility to provide you with a refined selection. Additionally, certain candid moments might capture authentic emotions but also have less flattering expressions. In such cases, we might take extra shots to ensure we have the best image with the ideal expression for the moment. Our experience in processing millions of images enables us to eliminate duplicates and present you with the best ones.

Q: “Does your studio provide videography services?”

A: Yes, we do offer videography services. For further information, please get in touch with us.

Q: “Have you shot at my venue before?”

A: With our extensive experience, we have covered hundreds of venues, so it’s highly likely that we have shot at your chosen venue. However, if we haven’t, we will conduct a thorough walkthrough with you before your wedding day to ensure we’re well-prepared.

Q: “Do you guys do destination weddings? What additional fees are associated with destination weddings?”

A: While our base is in New Delhi, we provide services to clients worldwide. Our destination wedding photography packages include our standard offerings plus travel expenses and reasonable accommodations if required.

Q: “Who will be shooting my wedding?”

A: The master photographer you meet initially will be the one responsible for capturing your engagement session and wedding. Rest assured, we won’t surprise you with a random photographer on your big day!

Q: “Does your studio do headshots, individual portraits, family portraits, commercial photography, or other types of photography?”

A: While we have experience in various photography domains, we specialize and excel in wedding and event photography. If you’re looking for recommendations in other areas, feel free to reach out to us.

Q: “What is your photography style?”

A: Our style involves using creative lighting, unique perspectives, angles, compositions, and artistic post-production techniques. We aim to bring out the personalities and beauty of our clients while narrating their wedding story. We take pride in being not just photographers but artists who craft distinctive and expressive imagery.

Q: “My venue is really dark. How does your studio handle these situations and can I see samples?”

A: We’re well-equipped to handle challenging lighting situations, even in the darkest of venues. If possible, we introduce additional lighting to ensure bright and clear images. Some venues may not permit flash photography, and in such cases, we use cameras with exceptional low-light performance and lenses with low apertures to capture stunning shots. You can request to see samples of our work in similar settings to get an idea of how we manage low-light scenarios.

Q: “Do you touch up all the images on our image DVD?”

A: Yes, indeed. Every image we deliver undergoes a basic post-production process that includes color correction, exposure adjustments, selective black and white processing, clarity enhancements, tone-mapping, and other necessary corrections. This ensures that the images are polished and ready for your collection. While some photographers may provide only a select few post-processed images, we believe in delivering a complete and refined product.

Q: “What is the difference between advanced and custom retouch? Why are there additional costs for custom retouch?”

A: Our advanced post-production covers touch-ups like removing blemishes, reducing under-eye bags, and fly-away hair. On the other hand, custom post-production involves more extensive work in Photoshop, such as removing entire objects, altering body parts or objects, and adding elements to an image. The complexity of custom retouching varies, so we charge an hourly rate based on the intricacy of the project. If you require custom retouching, you can contact our studio manager for a personalized quote.

Q: “Do you shoot in JPEG, Small Raw, or Large Raw?”

A: For most of our shots, we use Small Raw. In certain situations, we might switch to Large Raw. To understand our rationale, please refer to the Photography Misconceptions section on our website: Small Raw Vs. Large Raw.

Q: “How many hours do you suggest we set aside for wedding day photos?”

A: The duration you should allocate for photos depends on the time of day and various activities:

  • Preparation Shots – Around 1.5 hours, ideally divided into 45 minutes for each the bride and the groom.
  • Couples Session – Allocate 1 to 1.5 hours. We recommend doing this before the ceremony, along with a “first look” moment. This enables you to enjoy the rest of your day without worrying about photography. Plus, makeup and hair are fresh for these shots.
  • Family Formals – Dedicate 1 hour for capturing group pictures with your family and friends immediately after the ceremony. Have an organized representative from each side to coordinate the flow of people.

Q: “How many images do you typically deliver from an engagement session? From a wedding?”

A: Typically, we deliver around 100-150 images for a 4-hour engagement session. For weddings, you can expect approximately 250 images.

Q: “How long does it take to get my album?”

A: Album production times can vary, but on average, you should receive your album within 8-12 weeks after placing the order. The time before placing the order depends on how promptly you respond to album design instructions and the number of revisions requested. This pre-order process can range from a few months to over a year.

Q: “What rights do I have to the digital prints?”

A: You have the right to reprint your images as needed and in the locations you prefer. However, commercial use, sale of images for profit, or publication without written consent from Rajesh Arya Photography is prohibited.

Q: “Do you provide the RAW files from my engagement session and/or wedding day?”

A: While we offer a full-resolution image DVD in our packages, we generally do not provide RAW (unprocessed) files. Our focus is on delivering a finished product that matches our style and quality.

Q: “Do you provide the digital negatives after the shoot?”

A: Yes, all our packages include full-resolution image DVDs, providing you with the digital negatives.

Q: “What happens if my image DVD arrives damaged?”

A: If your image DVD arrives damaged, please reach out to us, and we will promptly send you a replacement copy.

Q: “What type of camera/equipment do you use?”

A: We utilize Nikon and Canon Full Frame cameras paired with fast lenses to ensure top-notch image quality.

Q: “Do you backup our images? How can we ensure that our images won’t be lost?”

A: We’ve maintained a flawless backup workflow to safeguard your images. During the shoot, we create backup copies on external drives after significant events. Once the shoot concludes, we back up the images to a local server configured in a RAID 1 setup. After completion, we upload images to a secure server location and preserve another copy in our archives. This dual-copy system ensures the safety of your images at all times.

Q: “How do I reserve you for my date?”

A: Once we receive your signed contract and deposit, we reserve your chosen date exclusively for you.

Q: “If we cancel the wedding, will we receive our deposit back?”

A: Unfortunately, no. Deposits are utilized to secure your date. Once your date is reserved, we do not accept new clients for that day.
